Hi- In reponse to Michael Paul’s question about Larson’s “Level of Cool” The Larson Justice Center’s cooling system is a MESS. Approximately 5 years ago, LJC’s cooling system was installed, commissioned by an independent third party, certified by the local utility district, and accepted by AOC’s FMU team. All was well for a fulll year and the court was able consume less energy but then, the warrantee expired! AOC FMU assumed operations and maintenance responsibiities and things begin go wrong– energy consumption increased and the system’s operation and performance became very unreliable. That’s where we are today.

This is probably the wrong place for both of our posts. Forgive me.
The expert that installed that system is a gentleman named Scott Lee and a company named AirMetrx in Walnut, Ca. 909-910-3084
Normally when you buy a system like this, you purchase maintenance on the system before the warranty expires. The AOC refused to purchase maintenance on the system and the unlicensed contractors tried to then put the blame on Scott because he wouldn’t work for free. Then they tried to come to me and ask me how to operate it (all well documented)
I have intimate knowledge of that system, moreso than anyone else except Scott Lee and his staff. Only he can restore it to what it was when it was working efficiently.
Since Mr. Lee was the one who asked both Fred Stetson and myself why he was issued a contract from an unlicensed contractor, he was blacklisted by the AOC’s office of Court Construction & Management.
If you work in Larson, you’re screwed by FMU. But at least now you have a road map to getting it fixed. All you have to do is fire FMU and pick up the phone and call Scott Lee because the AOC never will.

Thanks to fmintheknow for the update and MP for additional info. This situation sheds so much light on the beginning of the court responsibility transfer process.

Here is the really sad part for Scott Lee. State law requires that if a licensed contractor wants to keep their contractors license, if they have knowledge that they are working for or subcontracting to an unlicensed contractor AND DO NOT REPORT IT, they can lose their own contractors license. He was complying with the law and got blacklisted. I suppose it is better than losing your contractors license.

Obey the law and get punished for it — so not surprising when it comes to the California Administrative Office of the Courts.
So not surprising, and so very appalling.
Long live the ACJ.

Oh come on, you guys still don’t get it? Top leadership is above any law, rule, or just plain common sense. Just ask the guy who is telecommuting from Switzerland for $10k a month, in violation of the AOC’s own rules. And apparently he’s in until well into 2013, the SEC report and what anyone anywhere thinks about it be damned. The gambling barmaid will say she couldn’t do anything about this dude pending public comment– giggle. She and Joyobodie/Jodie/Jodi clearly knew EXACTLY what was in the SEC report, and implemented what they wanted to, and are stalling what they want to. Or else they are both SELECTIVELY psychic.
